The opening of Skyeworks Gallery above The Isle of Skye Baking Company in the Old Skye Wool Mill in Portree is the fulfilment of a three-year plan by Barry and Liza Hawthorne to see their independent backgrounds of food and art come together under one roof. After shifting The Isle of Skye Baking Company out of their home kitchen into the building in August 2010, the ‘Foodshop with Seats’ opened in May 2011, and now Skyeworks is a dream turned reality too.
